About the Academy / About Diaspora Advocacy Academy 2022

Turkish-American and Turkish-Canadian communities represent an above-average immigrant group in terms of education and welfare. Turks, who have achieved significant successes in culture, economy, sports, education, art and many other fields in the USA and Canada, make significant contributions to the development of their country.

The Turkish diaspora has a substantial potential to further increase its influence with a view to promote their interests and facilitate the development of Turkish-American And Turkish-Canadian relations. In this regard, Diaspora Advocacy Academy aims to increase the awareness of successful Turkish youth about the US and Canadian democracies so that they become more cognizant of their rights and learn how to convey their concerns, aspirations, and expectations to their local, regional, and national leaders.

A number of seminars on the political institutions of the USA and Canada, their foreign and domestic policy formation processes, and matters concerning the Turkish-American and Turkish-Canadian Communities will be given. Besides the seminars, the participants are expected to visit important institutions in the USA, such as the White House, the US Congress, the World Bank, the IMF and the US Department of State.
